A wery wersatile space
The worship space at St Paul's is used by the congregation on Sundays, Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings. At other times, it's a versatile and flexible space that accommodates a variety of activities from lindy hop dancing to salsa, Music for Little People, EFL examinations, public meetings, U3A choir and many more. Some of the activities that have taken place in the worship space are pictured on this page.

Wedding reception in the church on Saturday 13 June 2009 attended by 175 guests

Frantic Theatre: Thursday 18 June 2009

April 2009: Family Fun for the Under 8s with Karen Dickinson and Music for Little People

September 2008: Cambridge City Council Development Control Forum. The Forum consisted of a panel of councillors considering two petitions objecting to a planning application to develop the Station Road site - a topic of considerable interest to the local community served by the Centre.

From September 2007 to November 2008, the church was used by Escape Artists working with the Mental Health Resource Centre in Norfolk Street for weekly rehearsals and a work in progress concert in December 2008. The Project entitled The City Wakes (www.thecitywakes.org.uk) consisted of a musical tribute to Roger "Syd" Barrett, founder member of Pink Flloyd who was born in Glisson Road, a stone's throw from the Centre. Three spectacular concerts were held in the church in October 2008.

October 2008: a sixties style happening with psychedelic lighting was another feature of the City Wakes celebrations..

March 2008: a free 3 hour session of family fun for the under 8s with face painting, sandwiches and Cambridge's very own Mr Marvel. We repeated the exercise in May when the entertainer was Billy Banana and again in December with the Queen of Stories

The church is used for EFL examinations every summer

Regular visitors to the Centre (and users of the church): the Footloose Dance Orchestra and their wonderful renditions of 20s and 30s favourites

From left to right: University of the Third Age choir, a Tuesday Fellowship presentation in June 2009 using the newly installed screen and the City Wakes band instruments.

We even had a pantomime in the church space a couple of years ago (courtesy of Cambridge Assessment) with a papier mache camel and several gentlemen dressed as ladies.

The Hounddogs strutted their stuff and provided rocking good entertainment for the benefit of the Stroke Association based in Bury St Edmunds.
