About The Centre

The Centre at St Paul's was created in 1996 when the Victorian church, built in 1841, was divided into two. From the outside the building looks the same. Inside, the worship area (Main Hall) now occupies half the original space. It is used for church services on Sundays and for Centre activities during the rest of the week. The Main Hall is increasingly popular as a weekend venue for university society dinners, fund-raising events, concerts and ceilidhs. In 2012, it will be extensively refurbished by the removal of outmoded fittings to create a flexible setting for church services and community events.

	The Centre part of the converted building consists of a modern community facility open seven days a week from early in the morning until late at night. As well as hiring out rooms to local organisations and individuals, the Centre runs its own programme of events including lunch every Thursday and Friday. It also runs activities in partnership with other not-for-profit-organisations such as Homerton Children's Centre, Cambridge City Foodbank, Cambridge Online City and Cambridge Foodcycle. It is an attractive setting for one-off or regular activities in a convenient location close to the centre of Cambridge.
