"Syd saw sounds and heard colours" says Simon Gunton, composer of "Adoreus", the Cambridge cantata and conductor/coordinator of the new project based on the life and work of Pink Floyd founder member, Syd Barrett. This week's session at the Centre focused on Syd's paintings and translating visual elements of his work into music and lyrics.
The City Wakes Project is being delivered by Escape Artists in partnership with the Cambridge Mental Health Resource Centre. Within the sessions it is delivering Open College Network courses in Music Composition and Technology which are administered by Cambridge Regional college. The group meets at the Centre every Wednesday at 9 30 a.m. For more information about this and the previous project go to www.escapeartists.co.uk and click on "Showcase".
