Sustainable City

There are quite a few bikes in Cambridge. You may have noticed. Most of them are being being ridden on the city's footpaths.

Lots of people who use the Centre at St Paul's - Cambridge types mostly, but some ordinary people as well - travel by bike. And until recently there were few places to lock them securely. As you can see, that too has changed. With a grant from Cambridge City Council we've been able to install  a series of new cycle racks in gleaming galvanised steel. The concrete to which they are attached has come in for some criticism for aesthetic reasons. But then that's only to be expected in a free society where everyone has an opinion.
