About the performance
Stone Seeds is a 50 minute show incorporating live dance, DJ, spoken word and Beatbox as well as video and photography projections. The name "Stone Seeds" reflects the central theme of finding the solid, urban foundation from which to develop and grow. The seeds are trapped beneath the surface of the concrete, breaking through and growing into a powerful expression of freedom.

Hip hop and Breakin’ become the basis for a broader dance idea, acting as a metaphor for the dancers’ self-expression. The piece will include solos, duets and group sections, uniting the movement ideas drawn from physical investigations of breathlessness, with a soundtrack created in collaboration with a beatboxer specifically for the piece.

The work is rooted in the modern dance forms of Breakin’ and Hip hop. It is dance and music which arises directly from recognizable youth focused art forms, and it therefore has the power to engage with young people. SIN Cru will also be offering half-day workshops in Breakin’ and sessions in Poppin’, Lockin’, DJing and Beatboxing to venues hosting the tour.
