CENTRE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
After a fairly lengthy period of gestation, the Centre at St Paul's Development Project is about to take off. On Monday 16 July, work will start to transform the Main Hall into a unique community facility with a new stage, storage area, kitchenette/servery, new heating system powered by solar panels and an impressive hardwood floor. The work will take at least two months.
The contractors will then switch their attention to Room 5 on St Paul's Road which will be converted into a dedicated chapel. Phase 3 of the project involves adding a brand-new entrance hall accessible from Hill Road, linking the entrances to the Centre and St Paul's church.
The Centre website will chart the progress of the Development Project with regular photographic updates. If in the meantime you'd like to view the plans and architects' impressions of how the new designs will look, please drop in and we'll give you a guided tour. But don't wait too long. The work must start on 16 July, after which access to the Main Hall will be severely limited.
Our thanks to the organisations and individuals, including Cambridge City Council, WREN, AmeyCespa Community Fund and members of the congregation of St Paul's church, whose generosity has provided the financial backing for this exciting project.
