NEWTOWN COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS EVENT
It was a bit low key this year. No children's choirs. So numbers were smaller but the event catered to local Newtown residents as intended. Nia, Caroline, Sarah, John McA and Noami pulled out the stops. And why does an annual event have to be the same every year anyway? Councillor Sheila Stuart switched on the Christmas tree lights, Rev Michael Beckett asked us to think about the real meaning of Christmas, we belted out favourite carols and enjoyed Costa Coffee's excellent mince pies. Father Christmas was magic. Marks out of 10? Irrelevant. This is Newtown, not Strictly Come Dancing. If you weren't there where were you?
