LITTER: A PLEA FROM THE MANAGER
Anyone out there remember "Keep Britain Tidy"? It was a campaign many years ago aimed at tackling one of this country's perennial problems: litter. And it couldn't be more relevant today. At the Centre, we have a small(ish) garden with several benches that we encourage people to use. It's a community facility for all to enjoy. In summer, many people eat lunch in the garden. That's fine. But what they do with their litter is another story.
Coming back from a short holiday this week, I was confronted by a garden strewn with every conceivable type of food wrapper and container. Someone had left a sliced loaf in a plastic bag on one of the tables. There were pizza boxes and coffee cups everywhere. So my plea is this: please be responsible about disposing of your litter. Put it in the bin. And if the bin is full take it with you rather than throwing it on the grass, where someone else will have to tidy up after you. You know it makes sense.
