2010 SPRING FAIR

We decided to hold the fair later in the month rather than in the first week of May, a decision vindicated by the excellent weather. The usual attractions – books, bric-a-brac, tombola, cakes, bouncy castle, plant stall, face painting and jacket potato lunches indoors exceeded expectation and the success of previous years. The outstanding new feature consisted of stocks and water-drenched sponges lobbed with unerring accuracy at the vulnerable anatomy of several "good sports". Next year's targets: the vicar and the Centre manager

We charged an entrance fee of 30p, so based on income of £82, 273.33 paying customers attended the Fair. They included regulars from our lunch groups, members of St Paul’s,passers by and people from the local community. Thanks to everyone for making the event such a success. Thanks to everyone who donated stuff. Thanks to the volunteers, old and new, who ran the stalls, sat in the stocks, served the food and cleared up afterwards. All things being equal, we’ll be doing the same again next year. And incidentally, we raised over £1,000 for the Centre.
