Floor(eat) St Paul's
 |
Monday 24 August. And so it begins. Work on the Lower Hall floor. Softwood boards ravaged by tap dancing and stiletto heels. Varnish scraped away. Split boards. A weather-beaten look, a used look, admired by some but not by others. Time therefore for a fresh start and a new beginning.
We've waited a year, but that's because the Lower Hall is in use every day. Having missed last August's window for various reasons we had to postpone for twelve months.

Refurbishment of the Lower hall floor has been made possible by grants from Cambridge City Council (Community Development) and WREN. The work is being carried out by the Cambridge Flooring Company who installed a new sprung floor in the Upper Hall last December. They expect to finish the work by the end of the week but we aren't taking any chances. Instead of having lunch, the Thursday Group are going on a trip to St Paul's cathedral. And Friday lunch will be a sit down affair in church |
