Trip to Wells-next-the-Sea

This is the third year in succession that the Thursday group has been to Wells for lunch at the Crown Hotel, thanks to the generosity of Ken Ford. We travelled in two people carriers and our first stop was the car park next to the beach where several of the gang enjoyed a mouth watering soft ice.

The two groups of 7 met up for lunch at 12 30, after a brief tour of the main street where Nigel bought a model boat (or should that be ship?). At the Crown, both the food and the service were excellent. The seaside means fish so most of us tucked into haddock goujons There were no takers for the oysters but the liguini with crab was very nice, thank you very much. The raspberry dessert was particularly good although it did make some of the gents look as if they were wearing lipstick!. Thank you Ken from all of the gang. Here's to the next time in Wells next the Sea in 2010.
